Inside a darkened studio, peopled by the sound of ticking gears and cogs, sits a solitary clockmaker. Grown peculiar and strange, ‘Bones’ parcels out time in teaspoons and shadow, until the arrival of a mysterious package propels him from his refuge and sets the agents of fate into motion.
Director Matthew Talbot-Kelly’s animated short film The Trembling Veil of Bones employs a combination of live action and computer-generated imagery to fashion a densely layered, richly allusive world of intrigue and revelation. The film won Leo Awards in Best Direction/Storyboarding in an Animation Program or Series and Best Musical Score in an Animation Program or Series. It screened and won Best Animated Short at Victoria Film Festival and was accepted into over twenty festivals worldwide, including London International Animation Festival.
